Geekery for the Private Sector

Hello, my name is Sarah, and I’m a scheduling-aholic. Having worked at Ad Astra for nearly 2 years after spending many years in higher ed, I now know I’m not the only one! Our company has a unique passion (some call it geekery) for scheduling, and we share this love across all facets of the industry. Amongst other things, we specialize in creating automated and optimized schedules for career and technical colleges, and I have the pleasure of consulting with these institutions as they implement our tools. The for-profit camp has faced varying degrees of challenges over the last few years, and we continue to support innovative solutions to help them achieve compliance, efficiency and student success.

Our upcoming release (7.6) includes enhanced features to further mobilize for-profit institutions to save on operational costs while ensuring that students get what they need to graduate on time. Students’ ideal paths through degree programs are defined, allowing our Sectioning tool to create a schedule based on student-specific program needs. Timetabling then optimizes the institution’s facilities by assigning times, days and rooms while ensuring students and instructors have conflict-free schedules.

If you’re like me, you appreciate the value of technology in creating efficiencies in everyday life. But the significance of the human element cannot be overlooked. The consulting services that accompany our techy tools is what sets us apart. The private sector is improving academic schedules with our software, and individualized consulting is helping to ensure a successful operational framework to adopt these changes within the schools’ culture and climate. Regardless of a centralized or decentralized process, we have the solutions that for-profit institutions need for growth and student success!

If this doesn’t get you geeked up, we need to talk about your definition of scheduling geekery!
