Elizabeth Johnson: Manager of Scheduling; University of Utah

Liz has been with the University of Utah Scheduling Office since January of 2002. Since that time, she has been through an Astra Implementation and a major PeopleSoft upgrade, and has scheduled thousands of classes and hundreds of events. Responsible for publishing the online schedule of classes, the Scheduling Office also handles events, final exams, instructor verification for web grading, and upgrade testing. Liz sits on various committees, including the Classroom Improvement Committee (CRIC), the Student Affairs Professional Development Committee (PDC), and the University Health and Safety Committee. She is also on a project team to implement limited enforcement of pre-requisites beginning in 2010.

The University of Utah first implemented Astra Schedule in 2003. They use the heavy client, the Optimizer, web client, and the exam tool. They are currently on Version 5.2, with plans to upgrade to Version VII later this year.

Liz has BS degrees in both Marketing and Business Administration from the University of Utah. She has played violin with the West Valley Symphony for several seasons, and as previous conference attendees know, she also has a love for dancing and karaoke.
